Record shop owner stumbles across 100,000 sealed records in Texas basement

A record shop owner from Minnesota in the United States Rob Sheeley came across the kind of haul that lovers of vinyl could only dream of. A record store, which had closed down in 1994, had left its stock gathering dust in a basement in Big Spring, Texas. The inventory added up to over 100,000 LP’s and better yet they were left untouched in mint condition with original wrapping. Sheeley bought the entire stock for $100,000 and began the process of moving it to his store, Mill City Sound, in Hopkins, MN. An interview in the Star Tribune, states that the collection contained numerous popular vinyl from the early 80s. Some records included the likes of Prince, Ozzy Osbourne, Bruce Springsteen, James Brown, the Ramones and more.
A vinyl collector’s dream come true.
